Disney Lorcana: Hyperia City brings Coco and the new Ink Drops mechanic

On September 22, 2026, Ravensburger officially announced Hyperia City, the next set for the Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game. This time, Illumineers head to a metropolis where city life meets the fantastical, full of street performances, remarkable shops and a lively nightlife.

Release dates

  • Prerelease: October 16, 2026 in game stores and select Disney Parks and stores
  • Wide release: October 23, 2026
  • Preorders are open now at online retailers

Coco joins Lorcana

The headline addition is a new franchise: characters from Disney and Pixar’s Coco make their Lorcana debut as Glimmers. You’ll find them in the Marigold District, one of the city’s neighborhoods, performing music in the streets.

They’re joined by plenty of familiar faces, including several Disney Princesses, Mickey Mouse and many more, all in fresh Dreamborn versions.

A city of neighborhoods

Each card in the set places its Glimmer somewhere specific in Hyperia City:

  • City Center
  • Wandering Straits
  • Old Towne Hyperia
  • Marigold District, home of the Coco characters
  • M.A.G.I.C. (Multidisciplinary Academy for Genius, Imagination, and Creativity), on the edge of town, where Big Hero 6 characters such as Honey Lemon research the city’s newest technology

New mechanic: ink drops

Hyperia City is built around a single new mechanic: ink drops. They are counters that give a player one-time-use ink, which can be spent to play a card from hand or to empower certain other cards.

Lukas Litzsinger, Lead Game Designer for Disney Lorcana at Ravensburger, says ink drops “can completely change the tempo of a game.” The team deliberately focused the whole set on this one idea and is eager to see how players fit it into their decks. Expect faster, spikier turns where key cards hit the board earlier than usual.

Enchanted and Iconic cards

The set’s Enchanted cards capture a night out on the town, from a standout concert moment to an all-nighter spent on a passion project. The two Iconic cards, the rarest in the game, follow the same theme:

  • Mickey Mouse – Best in Town (first shown at D23)
  • Cinderella – Unintentional Icon

According to Liz Richards, Art Director at Ravensburger, the set offers something for every Disney fan, from its Dreamborn character art to the possibilities opened up by ink drops.

What’s coming in 2027

Ravensburger also shared a first look at next year.

Into the Inkdark

The first set of 2027, Into the Inkdark, features a Hades Glimmer plotting something sinister deep beneath the realm of Lorcana.

New collector boosters and Illustrious cards

This set launches a brand-new product: collector boosters, available at select Ravensburger Play Hub stores and at Disney Parks and stores.

  • Like regular boosters, they contain 12 randomized cards of all rarities
  • They are the only place to find the new Illustrious cards
  • Illustrious cards are the first serialized cards ever found in Disney Lorcana booster packs
  • Each features bespoke art by a popular artist in their own style, with a prominent artist credit on the card
  • 6 Illustrious cards per set, with only 23 copies of each printed

These are set to become the ultimate chase cards for collectors.

Cosmic Quest

In Spring 2027, Lorcana heads into space with Cosmic Quest. Expect Ariel and Flounder, Stitch and his fellow alien experiments, and, for the very first time in Lorcana, WALL•E and EVE.

And beyond…

Finally, Ravensburger teased some “magical mayhem” arriving across the realm in late 2027. No further details yet.
