On October 10, 2026 — Naruto Uzumaki’s birthday — Bandai took the stage at New York Comic Con to share what’s next for the NARUTO CARD GAME. The “NARUTO: What’s Next?” panel delivered a firm release date, the first products, a large-scale demo plan and a brand-new animated trailer.
The official animated trailer
The panel opened with the public premiere of a new teaser featuring original artwork by Studio Pierrot, the studio behind the Naruto anime.
Simultaneous worldwide release in June 2027
Previously slated for “Summer 2027”, the game now has a launch month: June 2027, simultaneously worldwide. Pricing has not been announced yet.
Launch products
Three Starter Decks
The launch lineup includes three Starter Decks, each built around a different Leader:
- Naruto Uzumaki
- Sasuke Uchiha
- Gaara

Each deck comes pre-constructed with everything needed to play straight out of the box, featuring its own lineup of ninjas and a distinct play style.
First booster: “Enter: Naruto Uzumaki!”
Releasing alongside the Starter Decks, the first Booster Pack, “Enter: Naruto Uzumaki!”, features popular characters from the original NARUTO series and NARUTO SHIPPUDEN. It adds new ninjas, techniques and other cards so players can upgrade their Starter Decks, collect their favorite characters and build their own decks.
In-store demos and 1 million Demo Decks
Before launch, Bandai has two major steps planned to introduce the game:
- February 2027: Premier Demo Events at participating TCG stores. The goal is to let everyone — including longtime Naruto fans who have never played a trading card game — learn the rules in a relaxed setting.
- Spring 2027: a global campaign distributing 1 million Demo Decks, letting players try the basic flow of a match at their own pace ahead of release.
Two early exclusives
Two products will be available early, only at Premier Demo Events and select BANDAI CARD GAMES FEST 26-27 events (including Orlando and London):
- the Official Playmat – NARUTO VS. SASUKE –;
- the Premium Card Collection Vol.00 – CHAKRA Set.

Refresher: how does the Naruto Card Game play?
The game spans the entire saga: NARUTO, NARUTO SHIPPUDEN and BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS. Each player builds around a Leader card, with a 51-card deck, 5 Chakra cards and 1 Summon card. The goal: reduce the opposing Leader’s Life to zero.
There are five card types: Leader, Character, EX Character (powerful characters that can be played once certain conditions are met), Chakra (the resource used for jutsu and effects) and Summon (required to send Characters into battle).
Other panel announcements
The card game wasn’t the only headliner. The panel also presented the “Project Rasengan” roadmap, including a four-episode crossover anime, NARUTO x NINKŪ, a worldwide release for the NARUTO Mobile game and a tease of a new manga by Masashi Kishimoto.
What’s next
The next major card game update is expected at Jump Festa 2027 in December. Meanwhile, the Naruto Card Game continues its demo tour, with stops at Paris Games Week and Spiel Essen (October 22–25, 2026), followed by Lucca Comics & Games (October 28 – November 1, 2026).
