NARUTO CARD GAME: Bandai Reveals Its New Official Trading Card Game
Bandai Card Games has officially unveiled the NARUTO CARD GAME, a brand-new trading card game based on Masashi Kishimoto’s work. After a first teaser in June, the studio lifted the curtain on July 29, 2026, revealing the gameplay mechanics, first card designs, and global event roadmap ahead of the title’s public debut at Gen Con 2026 in Indianapolis (July 30 – August 2).
A Big Comeback for Naruto in TCG
This marks the franchise’s first trading card game since the Naruto Collectible Card Game, released between 2006 and 2013. The comeback lines up with the anime’s 25th anniversary and follows Bandai’s playbook after successful TCGs for Dragon Ball, Digimon, and One Piece.
Masashi Kishimoto himself commented on the announcement, expressing his joy at seeing the world of Naruto grow once again and hoping the cards will find their way into fans’ hearts. The creator also contributed original artwork for the occasion.

Gameplay Mechanics
The NARUTO CARD GAME is described as a strategy-focused experience built for a competitive audience. Its core structure includes:
| Element | Detail |
|---|---|
| Leader card | Foundation of the deck build |
| Deck | 51 cards |
| Chakra cards | 5 cards |
| Summon card | 1 card |
| Goal | Reduce the opponent Leader’s Life to zero |

Players assemble Character cards in their Leader’s color and attack to whittle down their opponent’s Life total. The game draws from across the franchise: Naruto, Naruto: Shippuden, and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.
The first revealed card art features Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, Jiraiya, and Itachi Uchiha, blending original illustrations with artwork pulled from the anime and manga.
Event Roadmap
- July 30 – August 2, 2026 (Gen Con, Indianapolis): the game’s world debut, with free one-hour Tutorial Sessions. Participants receive a gift set including the exclusive promo card CP-001 Chakra Card – Gen Con 2026 Ver., a backpack, a sticker, and a voucher for the official playmat, shipping in 2027.
