Riftbound Reveals Its Product Roadmap Through 2027

During its second State of the Game update this year, the Riftbound team pulled back the curtain on its 2027 release calendar, while also recapping several announcements for the remainder of 2026. Here’s a full breakdown.

A few more surprises before the end of 2026

Before looking ahead to 2027, the publisher recapped a handful of upcoming releases:

  • Secret Garden: an alternate-art card product tied to the Origins — actually Unleashed — set, featuring special versions of Lillia, Ivern and a Poro, available at select competitive events (Barcelona, Singapore, PAX West, Los Angeles…) for $70 in the English edition.

  • Riftbound x T1 2025 Worlds Champion Collection: registration for the English-language signature set drawing was set to run in mid-August, while the associated player pack will be distributed via a raffle in October.

  • Rift’s Gift pack: a bundle celebrating Riftbound’s first year, including 16 boosters drawn from the first five sets, foil rune cards, and an alternate-art Akali (with a Chinese-language edition featuring an exclusive Kennen). Release is set for December 4, 2026, in English and Chinese.

Set 5: Radiance

The fifth set centers on mastery and performing under the brightest spotlight. It will feature 180 cards and will define the Regional Championships from November through the Convergence Fest in December. Previews begin at the Los Angeles Regional Qualifier in late September, the pre-release window runs October 16–22, and the official release lands on October 23, 2026. New legends include Seraphine, Ziggs, Jarvan IV, Ekko, and Evelynn. A new ultra-rare card will also debut with the set, with further details to come.

Set 6: Legacy

legacy

Riftbound’s sixth set, Legacy, spotlights the regional identity of its champions — Demacia, Noxus, Ionia, Piltover/Zaun, Freljord, and Bilgewater — across 346 cards. Previews start at the Convergence Fest in December, followed by a pre-release from January 22–28, 2027, and a release on January 29, 2027. New legends include Ashe, Garen, Heimerdinger, Illaoi, Karma, Lux, Tryndamere, and Vladimir.

The set brings several notable structural changes:

  • Boosters will swap one common-card slot for a dedicated legend-or-battlefield slot, appearing roughly 50/50, cutting the common count from 7 to 6 per pack.
  • Legacy is the first set designed from the ground up around Draft, introducing color-based synergy mechanics and lower-rarity “signpost” cards meant to guide limited-format strategies.
  • Card presentation is getting an update: a new grey highlight now marks targets within rules text, and a visual arrow separates a triggered ability’s condition from its effect.
  • The verb “play,” which previously carried several different meanings depending on context, is being clarified — token creation will now use “create,” and “when I am played” will become “when I enter.”
  • Artwork inspired by the League Classic aesthetic will appear on select cards.

February 2027 will also bring First Steps, 2nd Edition, a starter box featuring four new champion decks (Heimerdinger, Karma, Vladimir, Illaoi), available in English, Chinese, French, and Korean for $40.

Set 7: Reckoning

reckoning

Scheduled for a pre-release window of April 23–29, 2027, and a release on April 30, 2027, this seventh set (264 cards) centers on the awakening of some of League of Legends’ most iconic champions, including Aurelion Sol, Cho’Gath, Shyvana, Vayne, and Zilean. Details remain intentionally sparse for now.

Sets 8 and 9

Set 8, due in Q3 2027, will transport Riftbound into a whimsical, magical setting inspired by Bandle City, home of the Yordles, with extra artistic care from multiple illustrators. Set 9, expected in Q4 2027, remains entirely under wraps for now.

The takeaway

2027 is shaping up to be a packed year for Riftbound, with four new sets (Radiance, Legacy, Reckoning, and Sets 8 and 9), rules changes built around Draft, and several special products that will continue to support the game’s second year.
